Strength and Grit: Celebrating the Working Class
Strength and Grit: Celebrating the Working Class is an exhibition dedicated to honoring the resilience, determination, and contributions of the working class. It explores the everyday struggles and triumphs of individuals who form the backbone of society. The exhibition aims to highlight a sense of community, identity and pride that emerge from labor. Strength and Grit invites audiences to reflect on the importance of the working class in shaping our society. Through powerful stories and evocative art, this exhibition aims to inspire admiration and recognition for those who embody resilience and determination in their daily lives.
Rob Todd graduated in 2008 from Eastern Michigan University with a BFA in sculpture and furniture design. Starting in 2012, he became primarily self-employed as a custom fabricator and furniture-maker, launching his business from a rented office inside the Ann Arbor makerspace, Maker Works. Working in wood, metal, and plastics, Todd has focused his efforts and skills as an artist to provide local businesses and individuals, friends and family with well-crafted furniture, signs, and more. Since late 2023, he has been Chief Fabricator for Flutter & Wow Museum Projects in Ann Arbor.
