Math and Engineering Studies

Overview

The WCC Math Department is here to help you succeed in completing the math required for your degree or program. If math is your favorite subject or math is 'just a requirement' for you, or you are discovering a love of math, we are here for you. We have designed STEM and non-STEM pathways for you, no matter where you need to start. And, our ALEKS placement provides you with a unique opportunity to work independently to achieve any math level.

In the STEM pathway you can work from Beginning Algebra up through the entire Calculus sequence (see our Course Progression). In the non-STEM pathway you can work from Beginning Algebra to Statistics or Everyday College Math: these courses have specifically been designed to provide real-world applications with technology for the 21st century.

At WCC you will find smaller classes and flexible options, and many of our college-level classes transfer to 4-year colleges, including the University of Michigan, Michigan State, and Eastern Michigan University. See transfer equivalencies.

Our faculty are here for you with face to face, blended, and online options. All of our math faculty have advanced degrees but have chosen to teach... each one is here to help YOU get where you need to go.
