Designed to help job seekers with information technology opportunities – the Washtenaw Community College Career Services department is holding a career fair specific to the information technology industry in the Morris Lawrence building on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

WCC's Information Technology programs prepare students for employment within areas such as networking, installation, network security, configuration, hardware, operating systems, computer security, information systems management, programming and more.
WCC has a long tradition of preparing students for careers in IT. The College's labs have state-of-the-art software and hardware allowing students to gain the hands-on experience necessary to succeed in entry to mid-level IT jobs. Many of its programs concurrently prepare students to sit for industry recognized certification tests and to successfully transfer to four-year degree programs. Core programs in Linux/Unix Systems, computer networking, MS Windows systems, computer programming in C++ or Java, and web database programming offer students a range of career options. Students can elect to expand their expertise by earning multiple certificates while pursuing a degree.
The career fair will offer an opportunity for employers and job seekers to connect in-person, as a way to augment a job seeker's online job search.
Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally, conduct research of employers before attendance, and bring multiple copies of their resume.
