Digital Badge Credentials

Digital Badges at WCC

WCC has partnered with Credly to issue you a digital badge after you’ve completed all requirements of a Fast-Track Training Program or Professional Development Course.

What are digital badges?

A digital badge is a credential that identifies the skills and competencies you've learned in the class. A digital badge highlights your career-relevant skills. Digital badges are verifiable and trusted by industry experts.

Why are digital badges becoming popular?

According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers,  employers are looking for specific skill sets and competencies in job applicants. Employers can easily verify your abilities and gain a deeper understanding of your knowledge and skills.

How do digital badges help your career?

Hiring managers often have to skim resumes very quickly when looking at a large pool of job applicants. Candidates can always share their skills traditionally via text on a resume. Digital badges, in contrast, are an easy-to-skim, searchable way to stand out from the crowd to current and prospective employers.

Employers like digital badges because they can:

  • See your skill set clearly: They understand your experience and competencies.
  • Trust your achievements: Digital badges show that your skills are verified.
  • Find the right people: They can easily see how your skills match the job requirements.
  • Know you're serious about your field: It represents your invested time in learning and growing.

How do I get my digital badge?

After you complete all the requirements of your non-credit Fast-Track or Professional Development Training program, Credly will send you an email with a link for you to create an account, log in and accept your digital badge.

Credly also has instructions on how to set up your Credly profile and share your badges on LinkedIn and other platforms.

You own them, so you get to choose how you want to use them. You can share them on social media, include a link on your online resume, add them to your digital portfolio, and more.
