The Mechanical Systems personnel are responsible for ensuring that all equipment related to the heating and cooling of the campus facilities are operating in a safe and efficient manner and providing students and staff with a comfortable environment. We achieve optimal performance from our heating and cooling systems by both making ongoing improvements to our existing infrastructure and coordinating upgrades aimed at improved comfort and reduced cost.
Mechanical Systems provides:
- Maintenance and repair of all air handling equipment
- Maintenance and repair of campus air compressors and vacuum pump systems
- Maintenance and repair of pumps
- Maintenance of the campus lift stations and related equipment
- Maintenance of all campus gas and diesel powered generators
- Preventative maintenance on heating, cooling, ventilation systems and related equipment
- Replacement of air filters in all buildings
- Indoor air quality surveys
- Operation and maintenance of building automation system and related equipment
- Maintenance of Health and Fitness Center pools and spas and all related aquatic systems
- Temporary cooling (portable a/c units)
- Control schedules and set points for campus HVAC systems
- Fume hood maintenance for labs
- Chemical water treatment maintenance for open and closed loop systems
Mechanical Systems staff are available Monday through Thursday – 6:00 am until 11:30 pm, Friday – 6:00 am until 10:00 pm, Saturday & Sunday – 6:00 am until 3:30 pm.
